New research reveals that a whopping 40% of Australians plan to look for a new job in the next 12 months.
The data, from Hays recruitment agency, reveals a huge number of those surveyed said they were frustrated by lack of promotional opportunities (53%), uncompetitive salary (41%), poor training (27%) and poor work-life balance (27%).
“A new financial year is fast approaching, which traditionally brings fresh activity to the jobs market as new budgets are set and employers look to add to their headcount,” says Hays. “Financial year end, like New Year, is also a seasonal peak time of the year for people to review whether they should stay or change jobs.”
So, if your small business is looking to expand, now is the time to cast the net, get job ads rolling and get the recruitment ball rolling.
There are people sitting at their desks today hoping for new opportunities, frustrated by plateauing wages and lack of opportunity. With 40% of Australians clearly stating that they’re unhappy in their current position, the time to offer new prospects for talent seeking to improve their career prospects is now.
